Getting Started with Videos

The Videos section is where you develop each video from its first idea through publishing. Every video keeps its concept, package, hook, script, production work, and publishing details together.

Open Videos and click Create new video. Enter a video name, then optionally add initial concept details and a target publish date. You can create the video before the full concept is complete.

Every video begins in the Concept stage. Before continuing to Package, complete the summary, logline, main idea, problem, payoff, promise, and planned beats. Concepts are part of videos rather than a separate workspace.

A video moves through the production workflow one stage at a time. The stage bar shows where it is:

  1. Concept - Define the idea, viewer, problem, payoff, promise, and structure.
  2. Package - Build and compare title-and-thumbnail options.
  3. Hook - Write the opening that earns the watch after the package earns the click.
  4. Script - Draft and refine the complete script.
  5. Film - Record or upload the footage.
  6. Edit - Edit the video. This stage appears for workspaces with editor access.
  7. Review - Review the finished video before publishing.
  8. Publish - Finalize the YouTube details, links, privacy, and schedule.

Once the connected YouTube video becomes public, the video is treated as Published in Hitfactor.

  • Add notes to preserve decisions and feedback.
  • Set a target publish date when the video has a planned release.
